This course examines the recent explosion in the use of sedative and anti-anxiety drugs – especially Xanax, ‘street benzo’s’, Pregablin and GHB/GBL.

The session explores the reasons why so many people are turning to these drugs, the risks involved and practical issues around harm reduction advice. In particular the course explores the real dangers involved in mixing depressant drugs together and the so-called ‘Overdose Triangle.’

The course is suitable for all staff who require up to date information and advice on current issues relating to benzo/sedative use and how to work with clients who may be using them.
